Job summary

Okta is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area to partner with account executives, research customer needs, and deliver compelling POCs and demos that illustrate how Okta’s Identity Platform solves complex business challenges.

You will translate technical requirements into business value for developers, product managers, and executives, traveling 10–25% and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize opportunities with Fortune 500 customers.

Qualifications

5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience.
Customer-facing experience in consulting or support is a plus.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts via presentations, slides, and whiteboards.
Strong IAM knowledge: SSO, MFA, SCIM, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, LDAP; RBAC provisioning.
Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and security fundamentals.
Hands-on experience in web/mobile/backend development or real-time communications.
Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Willingness to travel 10-25%.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, MIS or related field.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with account executives to develop and execute territory and account strategies to maximize the Okta opportunity in those accounts.
Conduct research and discovery to understand customer requirements and communicate the business value of solving technology problems using cloud technology.
Execute the delivery of POCs for customers with complex use cases, collaborating with other Okta engineering teams as needed.
Craft technical content to show customers how to implement specific use cases or standard methodologies for new technologies.
Prepare and deliver demos to showcase how the Okta platform meets customer's business needs and use cases.
Distill and communicate customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and Sales.
