Job summary

JCS Solutions is seeking an experienced Principal Solutions Architect to support a major DoD modernization program at Fort Belvoir, VA. The role requires active TS/SCI clearance and U.S.

citizenship, with leadership across a broad IT architecture program in a DoW environment. You will drive strategic modernization initiatives, oversee PoCs, and coordinate with Leidos and government stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, MIS, or related STEM field with 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing solutions for secure, scalable on‑prem and cloud infrastructures.
• Experience planning and executing migrations of applications and services.
• Experience developing and maintaining architecture artifacts and communicating designs to stakeholders.
• Experience evaluating new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve performance, scalability, security, and costs.
• Experience operating in a DevSecOps environment of comparable size and complexity.
• Proven written and oral communications skills for all organizational levels.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoW TS/SCI clearance.
• Must possess an active DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification OR ability to obtain within 60 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Identify service gaps and drive continual innovation to evolve DTRA’s IT Infrastructure.
• Lead analyses of alternatives and proofs of concept for targeted improvements.
• Oversee 3‑month (or shorter) proofs of concept to demonstrate utility of improvements.
• Draft detailed project plans with technical approach, cost, schedule, and risks.
• Collaborate with Leidos and Government stakeholders to align with vision.
