Job summary

Mapbox is seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect to partner with customers, designing scalable architectures using Mapbox SDKs and platform services. You will lead technical discovery, prototype value, and collaborate with account teams to win opportunities.

Strong GIS expertise and experience with OEMs/Tier‑1 suppliers are required. You will engage with automotive customers, guide architectural decisions, and help validate solutions that align with business goals while traveling up to 25% for

Qualifications

8+ years in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, or enterprise consulting with a track record of customer-facing success.
Fluent in Japanese and English (written and verbal).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Domain expertise in GIS, location intelligence, and geospatial data processing, including spatial databases, vector and raster data, geocoding, routing, and map rendering.
Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, robust technical architectures aligned with customer objectives.
Experience collaborating with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, preferably in navigation, ADAS, connected-vehicle, or SDV programs.
Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer meetings, workshops, and industry events.

Responsibilities

Design and present scalable architectures using Mapbox SDKs, APIs, and platform services.
Lead technical discussions to identify customer goals, challenges, and requirements.
Build and deliver proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate customer value.
Partner with Account Executives to position technical differentiation and shape opportunities.
Apply expertise in GIS, location data processing, and business value to customer solutions.
Communicate effectively with developers, architects, and senior decision-makers.
Provide structured feedback from the field to influence Mapbox product and engineering roadmaps.
Stay current on emerging technologies in mapping, mobility, and AI.
