Job summary

Esri is seeking a GIS Solution Engineer to drive technical engagements with major commercial customers. You will lead enterprise‑level discussions, design GIS solutions, and demonstrate ArcGIS value across industries, while traveling up to 25–50% and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications.
• 3+ years of experience in Hi-Tech, Media & Entertainment, Consumer Goods & Services, or Financial Services.
• Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud).
• Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design.
• Understanding of sales and business development processes.
• Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri deployment and system architecture.
• Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology.
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts (Azure or AWS).
• Experience integrating software with data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms.
• Programming and scripting in Python and JavaScript.
• Excellent presentation and listening skills; ability to travel 25–50%.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships. Present, demonstrate, and support selling Esri software and solutions with the account team.
• Be an expert. Lead technical discussions and become a subject matter expert for commercial industries.
• Solve problems. Propose GIS-based solutions addressing client challenges and align technology with business needs.
• Tell our story. Design and deliver presentations for technical and non-technical audiences; present at conferences.
