Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect for Worldwide Database Migration to guide migrations from Oracle, SQL Server, and more to AWS-native databases including Aurora and RDS.

You will lead highly technical engagements, craft proofs of concept, and develop reusable guides for the field. You will work across the migration toolchain, mentor others, and contribute to thought leadership through blogs, reference architectures, and workshops, while supporting customers

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Knowledge of SQL, Linux, OLAP, and relational, NoSQL & multi-dimensional databases.
• Database migration experience — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and/or native/third-party replication tools.
• GenAI developer tools (Kiro, Claude/Claude CLI) for prototypes/demos and GenAI-based migration tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep, technical customer engagements on heterogeneous and homogeneous database migrations to AWS-native targets.
• Serve as a domain expert across the migration toolchain — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and GenAI-based tools.
• Investigate and resolve replication, performance, schema, and data-validation issues hands-on.
• Build working prototypes, demos, and reusable artifacts using GenAI tools.
• Represent the voice of the customer to influence product roadmap and provide advanced technical knowledge to GTM and account teams.
• Mentor and develop other Specialist SAs and create field enablement materials.
