Job summary

DNV Energy Systems in North America is seeking a Senior Solar Energy Analyst to join the Solar Energy Assessments team. You will conduct long‑term solar resource and energy production assessments for utility‑scale and distributed solar projects across North America, analyzing data and refining models.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical reporting, and development of analytical tools, with preference for candidates in major NA markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering, atmospheric science, mathematics, environmental science, or related quantitative field.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in North America.
• Strong data-analysis skills with Excel, Python, or similar.
• Proficiency with Python data science packages (Pandas, NumPy), Jupyter, Git.
• Experience with solar modeling software: SolarFarmer, PlantPredict, PVcase, PVSyst, pvlib, SAM.

Responsibilities

• Conduct long-term solar resource and energy production assessments for various solar projects.
• Analyze solar plant data, assess resource variability and model parameters.
• Prepare technical reports and ensure deliverable quality per standards.
• Develop and maintain analytical tools and software workflows.
