Job summary

Redwood Materials in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Senior or Staff Solar PV Project Engineer to own the PV portion of energy storage project deliveries from scoping through commissioning. You will translate ambiguous inputs into buildable diagrams and clear technical scopes, then act as the connective tissue between Business Development, Product Engineering, and EPC partners.

Occasional travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
Deep experience designing utility-scale PV systems and managing PV scope.
Proficiency with PVcase for diagrams and layouts.
Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, UL standards and interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

Own solar PV system design at concept and preliminary level for utility-scale projects.
Define technical scope and Basis of Design for the solar portion.
Serve as technical point of contact across internal teams and EPC partners.
Evaluate site conditions during feasibility to confirm buildable area and performance.
Identify interconnection, permitting, and code requirements for solar scope.
Review solar equipment proposals and coordinate with Procurement.
Support construction and commissioning on site to verify installation against design.
