Job summary

Redwood Materials seeks an Electrical Engineer to own the front-end electrical scope for early-phase energy storage projects. You will convert ambiguous inputs into a buildable concept, define AC/DC architectures, and map interconnection paths for proposals.

You will develop site layouts, single-line diagrams, and Basis of Design criteria, coordinating with Business Development, Product, and EPC teams to ensure a clear path to detailed design and successful implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or equivalent demonstrated ability; a Master's degree is a plus
• A minimum of 8 years in solar, energy storage, or microgrid work
• Deep understanding of grid-scale energy storage and electrical balance-of-plant equipment
• Strong knowledge of interconnection requirements and utility-scale project execution
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and ETAP or SKM

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical front-end scope for early-phase pursuits, coordinating across teams
• Develop concept and preliminary electrical designs—site layouts and single line diagrams
• Establish the electrical Basis of Design and design criteria for AC/DC architecture
• Perform screening-level power system studies to size major equipment
• Support interconnection strategy and feasibility studies for go/no-go decisions
• Establish electrical code and standards basis and design options in coordination with safety requirements
• Deliver the electrical scope and Basis of Design package to the detailed design team
