Job summary

Gemma Power Systems seeks a Solar Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar projects from Notice to Proceed through commercial operation. You will be the primary onsite representative, coordinating with the Owner, subcontractors, and engineers to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires relocation to project sites in Cambria County, PA, with 10+ years in solar or large renewables and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience).
• 10+ years of experience with solar power generation or other large-scale renewable energy projects; EPC experience preferred.
• Full-time, in-person role based at project site
• Strong cost and production forecasting, and project financials knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite representative for all project matters, maintaining proactive communication with the Owner.
• Ensure construction safety, environmental requirements, and project quality are met and documented.
• Oversee all aspects of solar project delivery, including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all construction activities for utility-scale solar.
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors, review proposals, and assist in negotiating contracts.
• Provide contract oversight and compile monthly progress reports.
• Manage onsite personnel and address personnel issues.
• Provide estimating support, budgeting, and labor planning.
• Ensure accurate project forecasting with Superintendents on completion estimates and production metrics.
• Organize subcontract coordination meetings and weekly project status meetings.
• Interface with Owner's Engineer and utility reps regarding interconnection and commissioning.
• Drive commissioning and energization activities with subcontractors and OEMs.
• Develop strong client relationships and train an Assistant Project Manager.
