Job summary

Gemma Power Systems is seeking a Solar Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar projects from Notice to Proceed through commissioning. You will own project decisions, manage safety, cost, and quality, and coordinate with Owner, EPC teams, and subcontractors. Relocation to project sites is required, with potential future site moves.

You will oversee civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes, drive planning, and ensure milestones are met while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience with solar power generation or large-scale renewable energy projects.
• Full-time field-based work at project sites during construction.
• Experience with EPC companies is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel; Power BI knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite representative for project matters and communication with Owner.
• Oversee safety, environment, quality, and adherence to schedules & budget.
• Manage all construction activities across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
• Coordinate site prep, pile driving, module installation, trackers, DC/AC systems, and substation work.
• Solicit quotes, review proposals, and assist in contract negotiations.
• Provide contract oversight, review invoices, and compile progress reports.
• Lead onsite personnel and subcontractors, address issues, and plan labor.
• Support estimating, budgeting, and labor planning; forecast completion metrics.
