Job summary

Nexamp Inc. is hiring a Senior Solar Project Engineer to lead engineering execution for complex PV and energy storage projects across the lifecycle. You will own critical technical decisions, coordinate internal teams and external engineers, and drive value engineering and performance optimization.

You will join a Project Engineering team reporting to the Manager, Project Engineering. This role supports hybrid work from hub offices in Boston, Chicago, New York, and Washington DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 5+ years in solar or BESS design and/or project engineering.
• Experience leading engineering for PV or BESS projects across full lifecycle.
• Knowledge of PV/BESS engineering, design, construction, and optimization principles.
• Proficiency with NEC, IBC, IFC codes.
• Experience CAD and energy modeling outputs for decision making.
• Experience contracting with engineering consultants and suppliers is a plus.
• EIT certification, PE license, NABCEP, or PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution for complex PV and BESS assets across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate internal teams and external engineers to deliver optimized packages.
• Drive technical decisions balancing cost, schedule, constructability, and asset performance.
• Collaborate across Design, Development, Engineering, Estimation, Pre-Deployment, Deployment, Finance, and Grid Integration teams.
• Develop and interpret plant performance models for project portfolio optimization.
• Review key deliverables, equipment selections, RFIs, submittals, and construction drawings for compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers through coaching and reviews.
• Lead department process improvements and tooling enhancements with the Technical Strategy Team.
• Build relationships with vendors and consultants across the project lifecycle.
• Perform site visits during construction and support project delivery.
