Job summary

Nexamp is hiring a Senior Solar Project Engineer to lead engineering execution for complex PV and BESS projects. You will manage design, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver cost-effective, constructible solutions.

The role emphasizes mentorship, standards development, and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle. The position offers hybrid work across our hub offices including New York, Boston, Chicago, and DC, with a focus on advancing Nexamp’s mission to expand

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of solar or BESS project engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering for complex PV/BESS projects across full lifecycle.
• Knowledge of PV/BESS design, construction, and optimization principles.
• Familiarity with NEC, IBC, IFC design codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution for complex PV and BESS projects across the full lifecycle.
• Identify and resolve design and construction issues balancing cost, schedule and performance.
• Collaborate with Design, Development, Engineering, Estimation, Pre-Deployment, Deployment, Project Finance, and Grid teams.
• Develop plant performance models and analyses to guide decisions.
• Review key engineering deliverables and ensure code compliance and constructability.
• Mentor junior engineers and support department process improvements.
