Job summary

Nexamp Inc. is seeking a Senior Solar Project Engineer to lead engineering execution for PV and BESS projects across the lifecycle. You will coordinate internal teams and external engineers to deliver optimized packages, drive design decisions, and ensure constructability and performance.

You’ll mentor engineers, manage vendor relationships, and push standards with the Technical Strategy Team to deploy innovative tech and scalable solutions. Hybrid work options available in multiple hubs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years of solar or BESS design and/or project engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering for complex PV or BESS projects across the full project life cycle.
• Strong knowledge of PV and BESS engineering, design, and construction principles.
• Proficiency with NEC, IBC, and IFC codes.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and drive resolutions.
• Understanding of DG and community solar market dynamics.
• Experience reading CAD and energy models (AutoCAD, PVSYST).
• Experience with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
• Plus: utility-scale solar and BESS project leadership from development to handoff.
• Plus: contracts with engineering consultants and suppliers.
• Plus: testing programs for new tech or processes.
• Plus: formal mentorship involvement.
• Certifications: EIT/PE, NABCEP, or PMP.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and design execution across the full project life cycle for PV and BESS assets.
• Own project-level technical decisions, balance cost, schedule, and constructability.
• Collaborate with Design, Development, Engineering, Estimation, Pre-Deployment, Deployment, Finance, and Grid teams.
• Develop and interpret plant performance models and related analyses for project decisions.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, equipment selections, RFIs, submittals, and drawings.
• Mentor junior engineers through coaching and reviews.
• Own department process improvements, standards updates, and tooling enhancements.
• Develop relationships with vendors and engineering consultants.
• Perform site visits during construction for project assessment.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
