Job summary

Nexamp, a leader in clean energy, seeks a Senior Solar Project Engineer to drive engineering execution for PV and BESS projects from development to handoff. You’ll coordinate internal teams and vendors, ensuring cost-effective, constructible solutions while maintaining high standards and project timelines.

You will mentor teammates, refine engineering standards, and collaborate across Design, Development, Estimation, and Grid Integration to optimize performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years in solar or BESS design/project engineering.
• Experience leading engineering for complex PV/BESS projects across full life cycle.
• Strong knowledge of PV and BESS engineering, design, and construction principles.
• Familiarity with NEC, IBC, and IFC codes.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage schedules.
• Experience with DG/community solar markets and utility interconnection processes.
• Proficiency with CAD and energy modeling outputs to support decisions.
• Experience with contracting with engineering consultants and equipment suppliers is a plus.
• Mentorship experience and leadership potential evident.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and design across PV/BESS projects end-to-end.
• Own technical decisions and balance cost, schedule, and performance.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors for optimized packages.
• Develop models and analyses to inform optimization and tradeoffs.
• Review and approve key engineering deliverables and specs.
• Mentor junior engineers through coaching and reviews.
• Drive process improvements and tooling enhancements in Project Engineering.
• Build relationships with vendors and consultants throughout the project life cycle.
• Perform site visits during construction for project assessment.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
