Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a field service technician for on-site solar facility maintenance across our projects in Texas. The role begins as a contingent position with potential to transition to permanent, requiring strong safety leadership and hands-on maintenance for solar plants.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, supervise levels I–IV, document operations, and collaborate with EPC teams. Excellent communication and adaptability to remote sites are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; vocational training a plus.
• Minimum four years of solar facility maintenance and repair experience.
• Advanced computer operation and ability to run monitoring applications.
• Strong knowledge of solar systems, protection devices, control devices, transformers.
• Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues.
• Must pass exams on electrical schematics, troubleshooting, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
• OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70e safety training.

Responsibilities

• Perform site maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting as directed by management.
• Ensure safe working environment by enforcing safety standards.
• Prepare timely and accurate site operation reports and documentation.
• Supervise Solar Technician Levels I–IV; provide ongoing training.
• Collaborate with EPC management on improvements and new technologies.
• Respond on-call for emergency equipment repairs.
