Job summary
AES Corporation seeks a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally, building a portfolio of owner-operated renewable power plants. The role includes evaluating opportunities, due diligence, and coordinating with business development, execution, and finance teams.
Ideal applicants have extensive PV and battery storage design/analysis experience (2 MW to 500 MW), proficiency with PV system
Qualifications
- 5+ years of renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with common renewable energy system modeling tools such as PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Advanced Excel skills.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
- Site evaluation for project suitability (remote and in-person).
- Project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator.
- Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
