Job summary
AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and BESS project development across the US and internationally. You will qualify opportunities, perform due diligence, and respond to RFPs with teams from Business Development, Execution and Finance.
The role requires depth in PV and storage system design and analysis, plus experience with project economics and PPAs. Up to 15% travel is expected.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with PV modeling tools such as PVSYST, Helioscope, HOMER, SAM and Plant Predict.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development using PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict.
- Battery dispatch modeling and site evaluation for project suitability.
- Lead pricing and value engineering with an Estimator and assist 30% design studies.
- Develop technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals.
- Coordinate with Business Development, Execution and Finance teams.
- Support RFPs, Greenfield Development, and acquisition studies.
