Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Test Engineer for a 100% remote role. The candidate will craft and execute comprehensive test plans, and collaborate with Dev, QA, and PM teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

Strong programming skills (C#, Java, Python) and experience with automation, CI/CD, and performance testing are required. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in software testing, depth in agile environments, and the ability to mentor junior testers while delivering

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Track record on complex software projects with quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum and SDLC concepts.
• Able to write and execute test cases, scripts, and plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks/tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
• Familiar with Git and SVN for version control.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to meet requirements.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and testing approach.
• Write test cases/scripts and identify data for scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers and Developers.
• Lead tests to ensure defect-free operation of IT systems.
• Document and communicate test results clearly.
• Support analysis of test results and resolve issues.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting for stakeholders.
• Occasionally perform other IT system engineering activities as needed.
• Provide technical solutions and guidance to the team.
