Job summary
SimVentions is seeking a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer for software systems engineering across aviation programs. The role requires an ACTIVE Secret Clearance and may require Top Secret later. On-site presence at the NAVAIR base in Patuxent River, MD is required.
The position is future funded and not expected to begin before September 1, 2026. Requires at least ten years of software and systems engineering experience and familiarity with military aircraft avionic systems.
Qualifications
- At least ten years experience performing software and systems engineering activities.
- Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software requirements
- Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
- Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
- Conduct analysis of software defects
- Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts
- Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs)
- Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
- Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
- Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
- Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
- Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
