Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to lead software and Linux systems tasks in RF‑focused environments. You will design, develop, secure, and support end‑to‑end solutions, guiding junior engineers and coordinating across hardware and software teams.

The position requires TS/SCI with polygraph, a strong Linux background, and experience with virtualization, DevOps, and RF systems integration. On‑site collaboration in a mission-driven setting is expected.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in CS/EE/Systems.
• DevOps practices to automate tasks and manage infrastructure as code.
• Strong Linux (Debian/systemd) administration and networking skills.
• Experience with virtualization, Docker, and monitoring tools.
• Security best practices and operating in air‑gapped or sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to junior developers and teams.
• Develop and maintain complex software in C, C++, Rust, Python, or Bash.
• Automate Debian/Linux systems and RF‑centric utilities.
• Configure, monitor, and secure Linux compute and network environments.
• Oversee configuration management, patches, and baseline control.
• Support deployment from lab to production and document runbooks.
