Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join our Sunrise, FL team. You will implement low level Linux OS software working with hardware prototypes, using Linux/C code and scripting to implement and verify algorithms.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining efficient code, resolving bottlenecks, and collaborating with team members to ensure quality software delivery while supporting security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 2–10+ years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of C and Linux environments for development.
• Familiar with multithreaded environments and ARM-based platforms.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, AWK, Lua, Shell).
• Experience with source control systems and building software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement low level Linux OS software with hardware prototypes and lab test equipment.
• Develop and verify basic software algorithms and test strategies.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable code with high performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bottlenecks and bugs in software stack.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver quality software on schedule.
