Job summary

Confident Search Consultants is seeking a Senior Software Support Engineer to own complex production issues across our SaaS platforms. This hands-on role involves debugging code, partnering with engineering and DevOps, and driving long-term fixes that improve reliability and customer experience.

You'll work with Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL, and cloud technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes), and you'll contribute to automation, AI-assisted tooling, and modernization efforts

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, application support, or production support within a SaaS environment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting across application code, databases, and infrastructure.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL, and AngularJS.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, logging, monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and authentication/SSO.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Strong analytical thinking, technical ownership, and customer-impacting issue resolution.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own complex technical challenges: Lead Tier 3 production support efforts from diagnosis through resolution.
• Get hands-on with code: Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL, and related technologies, including targeted code fixes.
• Perform root-cause analysis across applications, databases, integrations, and infrastructure to prevent recurring issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, and Support to improve application stability, performance, and reliability.
• Drive automation and AI-assisted solutions to streamline troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Contribute to product evolution through modernization initiatives, including migrations to modern frameworks.
• Become a technical expert on the company’s SaaS applications and a trusted resource for resolving challenging issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve technical documentation and best practices.
