Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Support Engineer to own complex production issues across its SaaS platforms. This hands-on role involves working with application code, databases, and cloud infrastructure to diagnose root causes and implement lasting fixes.

You’ll collaborate with Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Product, develop automation and AI-assisted tools, and contribute to modernization efforts while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, application support, or production support within a SaaS environment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and debugging across code, databases, and infrastructure.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL; AngularJS familiarity.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, logging, monitoring, and RCA.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and authentication/SSO.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or similar).
• Strong analytical thinking and technical ownership; able to prioritize customer-impacting issues.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own complex technical challenges: lead Tier 3 production support, diagnose and resolve escalations.
• Troubleshoot issues involving Rails, React/TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL; implement fixes.
• Perform root-cause analysis across apps, databases, integrations, and infra.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, and Support to improve stability.
• Develop scripts, tools, and AI-assisted solutions to streamline troubleshooting.
• Contribute to product evolution and modernization initiatives.
• Become a technical expert on the company’s SaaS apps and mentor juniors.
• Improve technical documentation and establish best practices.
