Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Senior Software Support Engineer in North Carolina to own complex production issues across SaaS platforms. You will work hands-on with application code, databases, and cloud infrastructure to diagnose root causes and implement long-term improvements.

This role blends support with development, automation, and modernization efforts. You will troubleshoot Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and SQL/PostgreSQL, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SaaS software engineering or production support.
• Hands-on troubleshooting across application code, databases, and infrastructure.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL; familiarity with AngularJS.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, logging, monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and authentication/SSO technologies.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to prioritize customer-impacting issues.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own Tier 3 production support, diagnosing and resolving escalated issues.
• Troubleshoot code involving Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL; implement fixes.
• Perform root-cause analysis across apps, databases, integrations, and infra.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, and Support to improve reliability.
• Develop scripts, tools, and AI-assisted solutions to streamline troubleshooting.
• Contribute to software modernization and migrations from legacy tech.
• Develop deep knowledge of SaaS applications and mentor junior engineers.
• Improve technical documentation and establish best practices.
