RTX is seeking a Senior Software Security Engineer to join our Software Product Assurance team in McKinney, TX. The role focuses on delivering security‑driven embedded software for real‑time sensor systems, using C and C++ across diverse hardware platforms.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in embedded software security, strong knowledge of embedded OSes like VxWorks or Embedded Linux, and holds an active DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant software experience.
• Experience with C / C++
• Experience with Embedded Processors
• Experience with embedded OS like VxWorks, Embedded Linux, or similar
• Embedded Software Security experience
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement software security principles for embedded real‑time sensor software.
• Develop software applications using C and C++ on multiple computing platforms.
• Ensure Software Product Assurance processes are followed across programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support TDMC based execution.
• Review technical designs with customers and verify system maturity.
