RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking a Software Engineer II – Sensors, Space and Air. You will join an elite software team to design, code, integrate, and test real-time embedded software for sensors, guidance, and fire control systems.

The role requires experience in C++, embedded software, and scripting, with collaboration across the software development lifecycle. Onsite work in McKinney, TX is expected, with DoD security clearance prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited institution.
• Experience developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++ or related languages.
• Experience in scripting languages such as Python/Shell/Perl.
• Strong Object-Oriented Design knowledge.
• Embedded software development experience.
• Experience working in a team-based development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real-time embedded software for RF and sensing capabilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including program leadership and customers.
• Assist in deriving system and software requirements and architectural modeling.
• Support software lifecycle activities from development through integration.
• Participate in peer reviews and ensure software meets program baselines.
