Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a Senior Manager of Software Engineering in the Infrastructure Platform, Managed File Transfer group.

You will coach multiple teams, shape technical strategy, and influence budget and architecture decisions to improve efficiency and delivery across the enterprise. The role requires deep Java full-stack experience, strong React front-end skills, cloud and containerization expertise, and proven leadership in multi-team initiatives, including AI-assisted development

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java full-stack development with 3+ years of leadership.
• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
• Expert-level RESTful API design using Java 11+ (Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA).
• Strong React frontend skills and relational database knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to guide and coach teams toward strategic initiatives and governance of AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
• Accountable for decisions influencing resources, budget, operations, and processes.
• Set operating practices for AI-assisted engineering and SDLC automation across teams; establish measurable expectations.
• Leverage SDLC toolchains and automation to drive efficiency and reuse of firm technology assets.
• Ensure collaboration across teams and stakeholders; escalate issues when necessary.
• Provide input to leadership on budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve efficiency and functionality.
