CVS Health in Providence, RI is seeking a Senior Manager – Software Development Engineering to lead and mentor a team of software engineers, set architecture direction, and drive delivery of software initiatives aligned with business outcomes. This role requires hands-on leadership and deep technical expertise in modern software practices.

You will shape technical strategy, own the SDLC, and collaborate with product, data, and security teams to ensure scalable, reliable systems that support CVS

Qualifications

• 7+ years of overall software engineering experience with at least 5+ years of leading projects or managing directs.
• 7+ years using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka to build/deploy and maintain software applications using cloud platforms.
• 3+ years leading cross-functional teams without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
• 3+ years defining technology strategy and adopting AI/ML, cloud services, automation in a large-scale enterprise.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and modern software practices.

Responsibilities

• Own risk mitigation and production stability by identifying vulnerabilities and driving timely resolution.
• Oversee the full SDLC, including requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment with secure coding.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate requirements into technical solutions and resolve dependencies.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and lead innovation through proofs-of-concept.
• Build high-performing teams by hiring top talent and fostering continuous improvement.
