Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Sr Software Engineering Manager to lead embedded waveform software development for LOS and BLOS radio architectures. Onsite role requiring DoD clearance and strong leadership in Agile teams.

The role focuses on managing cross-functional teams, ensuring cost/schedule control with EVMS, and sustaining high-performance delivery in a security-cleared environment. Onsite with relocation options available.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Experience leading cross-functional software teams in embedded software for SDR architectures with C++.
• Experience with EVMS cost and schedule management and Agile development.
• Typically requires STEM degree and 10+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities and provide technical oversight of software engineers, project engineers, and support teams in an Agile environment for embedded SDR software.
• Oversee scope, schedule, and EVMS-based budget management; elevate risks to upper management as needed.
• Demonstrate predictable program execution and drive continuous improvement across projects.
• Contribute to engineering bids and proposals and ensure alignment with program goals.
• Develop strategic workforce plans, including hiring and career development actions to sustain high performance.
