Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks an exceptionally motivated software engineer to join our Mission Systems team in Cedar Rapids. You will work on embedded C/C++ and Python to develop mission-critical software, collaborating with high-performance teams in a fast-paced, adaptive environment.

Responsibilities include leading proposals, coordinating small-team software execution, translating customer requirements into end-to-end solutions, and tracking cost/schedule risk to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience with Embedded Development using object-oriented design.
• Experience with development tool sets, e.g., Jira, Subversion/Git.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Typically requires STEM degree and 10 years of experience or an Advanced Degree with 7 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expert proficiency in embedded C/C++ and Python across all phases of software development.
• Lead technical proposals and program cost estimations during bid and proposal cycles.
• Lead and coordinate software execution for small teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Translate customer requirements into end-to-end system solutions considering schedule and cost constraints.
• Manage program cost, schedule, and risk using earned value management.
