Job summary

Buildertrend is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to shape the future of residential construction by leading teams that deliver high-quality, customer-focused software. You will coach engineers, embed with teams, and partner with Product and Design to drive product-minded solutions.

You will champion Agile, scale processes, improve delivery, and guide AI-assisted workflows while maintaining strong communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong technical foundation.
• 5+ years of experience managing software engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, software engineering, or related field.
• Experience at a B2B SaaS company is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop software engineers, with a focus on growth, performance and ownership.
• Build and sustain high-performing teams that consistently deliver impactful software.
• Champion Agile practices that support flexibility, continuous delivery and customer value.
• Drive a culture of quality and innovation.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA and other stakeholders to align goals and drive outcomes.
• Improve and scale engineering processes for long-term sustainability and clarity.
• Use AI tools to make your teams more efficient, from code review to test generation, while applying critical thinking and owning the quality of the final work.
