Job summary

Buildertrend is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the future of construction technology. You will work on tools used by construction professionals to run their businesses, improving efficiency, reliability, and scalability as the platform grows.

You will collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams, mentor peers, and contribute to architecture and engineering practices to deliver high-quality software across our hybrid/remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience building production software with ownership from discovery to delivery.
• experience at a B2B SaaS company, especially with scaling and reliability challenges.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and C#/.NET.
• Fluency with AI-assisted engineering to improve speed without compromising quality.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and modern development practices (Agile, Scrum).
• Measuring success by customer impact and long-term quality, not just shipping.

Responsibilities

• Talk to customers and translate feedback into technical solutions through design, development and delivery.
• Write clean, maintainable code with high performance and reliability as the platform scales.
• Push back on solutions that don’t address real customer problems and advocate for impactful ones.
• Lead code reviews and mentor engineers to raise engineering standards.
• Identify and advocate improvements to strengthen the platform over time.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, product partners, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to planning, retrospectives, and other Agile practices for consistent delivery.
