Job summary

Buildertrend is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead high-performance teams building residential construction software. You will partner with Product and Design, coach engineers, and champion Agile practices to deliver value and quality to homeowners.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in software engineering and 5+ years in people leadership, plus experience in B2B SaaS and AI-assisted workflows. The role supports hybrid or remote work within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong technical foundation.
• 5+ years of experience managing software engineers.
• Prior experience at a B2B SaaS company is preferred.
• Demonstrated critical judgment in AI-assisted work including directing AI tools, catching failures, and editing output to a professional standard.
• Experience with Agile principles and a focus on delivering meaningful outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams.
