Buildertrend Solutions, Inc. in Omaha, NE is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape construction technology. You will build tools that help construction professionals run their businesses more efficiently, collaborating with customers and teammates to deliver impactful software.

You will own features from discovery to delivery, write clean, scalable code, lead reviews, and mentor junior engineers while advancing agile practices.

The job:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Buildertrend, you'll help shape the future of construction technology and build the tools that construction professionals rely on to run their businesses, to work smarter, move faster, and deliver with confidence. You're not here to just execute tickets; you're here to make an impact. You'll work closely with our customers, and when something you ship makes their day easier, you'll hear about it. Your technical expertise will not only shape our products but also play a crucial role in delivering solutions that make a lasting impact on how construction teams work and succeed.

What you will do:

• Talk to our customers, and turn what you hear into technical solutions you drive through design, development, and delivery.
• Write clean, maintainable code while maintaining high standards for performance and reliability as the platform scales.
• Push back on solutions that are technically clean but don't solve the real customer problem, and make the case for the ones that do.
• Lead code reviews and mentor engineers, helping strengthen engineering practices across the team.
• Identify and advocate for improvements that make the platform stronger over time.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, product partners, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to planning, retrospectives, and other agile practices that support consistent delivery.

Who you are and what you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of experience building production software; taking ownership of problems from discovery to delivery, and driving solutions to completion.
• Prior experience at a B2B SaaS company, ideally where you’ve worked through scaling and reliability problems.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and C#/.NET.
• Fluency with AI-assisted engineering, using it to work faster without sacrificing quality.
• Strong understanding and experience with software design patterns and modern development practices (Agile, Scrum, etc.)
• Measure success by whether the solution actually works for the customer, not just whether it shipped.
• Contribute to a strong engineering environment by sharing knowledge, supporting and mentoring teammates, and helping raise technical standards.
