Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager – Software Development Engineering to lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical direction, architecture guidance, and mentorship while establishing measurable engineering goals aligned with business outcomes.

This Senior Engineer also will drive technical strategy and execution for software initiatives by defining system requirements, architecture, timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in leading projects or managing directs.
• 7+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and cloud deployment.
• 3+ years leading cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
• 3+ years defining technology strategy and driving AI/ML Cloud adoption in a large enterprise.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, microservices and modern practices.

Responsibilities

• Own risk mitigation and production stability, identifying vulnerabilities and leading RCA to minimize downtime.
• Oversee the full SDLC, ensuring secure coding, scalable architecture and best practices.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Infrastructure, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and maintain delivery pipelines.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and drive innovation through POCs and informed tech selection.
• Build high-performing teams by hiring, evaluating, and fostering technical excellence.
