Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect the world representation layer of the Acuity autonomy stack. You will define 4D spatial abstractions, ECS frameworks, and high-performance data structures for multi-agent environments across air, ground, and maritime domains.

The role requires deep experience in spatial systems, real-time simulation, and C++20, with practical knowledge of game engines, robotics simulators, or autonomous stacks.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in spatial systems, world modeling, or simulation.
  • Expert-level C++ with C++20 or later, templates, move semantics, SIMD, and optimization.
  • Hands‑on experience building world or scene representations in game engines, simulators, or autonomous stacks.
  • Strong background in computational geometry: coordinate transforms, BVH, octrees, kd-trees, and collision/proximity.
  • Low-latency, high-throughput software design for real-time environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for tooling and automation.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and tools like Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

  • Architect World & Scene Representation Systems: core spatial data structures, ECS, spatial indexing, 4D object management for large multi-agent environments.
  • Own Mapping & Geometry Pipelines: between raw sensor data and path planning, coordinate frame management and environment abstraction layers.
  • Drive Performance to the Metal: write optimized C++20, low-latency, cache-efficient code; profile, minimize allocations, optimize hot paths.
  • Lead Technical Strategy & Integration: drive architecture decisions and clean APIs for cross-domain integration across autonomy stacks.
  • Collaborate & Mentor: guide sensor, planning, and simulation engineers to align the scene layer with the full stack needs.
