Job summary

Chime Engineering is seeking a Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership and evolve our risk architecture within Trust & Safety, enabling deeper insights and stronger protections for our members.

You will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, build low-latency APIs and backend services, collaborate with data teams, and ensure reliability and performance while supporting scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing software at scale.
• Deep understanding of large-scale web app architectures.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Experience with transactional databases and caching.
• Technical lead experience coordinating cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and architecture for the platform.
• Mentor engineers and lead multiple projects end-to-end.
• Build and maintain robust API backends.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product managers.
• Improve reliability and performance of the platform.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
