Job summary

CTM in Maryland is seeking a Software Engineer IV, Supervisor to lead a team of engineers while maintaining hands-on coding responsibilities. You will oversee design, implementation, and delivery of complex projects across multiple services, ensuring reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience
• Experience directly managing junior or mid-level engineers
• Hands-on contributor with ability to lead complex projects
• Ability to set clear expectations and delegate effectively
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and large-scale web apps

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise engineers, set expectations for delivery and quality
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and provide feedback
• Coach and mentor junior engineers through pairing and code reviews
• Oversee onboarding and ongoing training for engineers
• Coordinate with engineering, product, and stakeholders to maintain alignment
• Remain a hands-on contributor writing high-quality, maintainable code
• Lead design reviews and technical discussions across teams
