CTM is hiring a Software Engineer IV to join our Maryland-based team. You will lead design and implementation of complex projects across multiple services, owning testing, rollout, and observability.

You will mentor others and influence architectural decisions while balancing reliability, security, and cost. You should bring 6+ years of production software experience with Python, Ruby on Rails, or JavaScript, a strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and large-scale web applications,

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience in production environments.
• BS in Computer Science, Math, or related analytical field preferred.
• Deep experience with Python, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, or equivalent languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex projects across services or teams.
• Make architectural decisions balancing reliability, performance, security, and cost.
• Own testing, rollout, migration, observability, and operational readiness.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code and set technical examples.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues.
• Own projects from planning to launch, managing milestones and risk.
• Coordinate with Eng, Product, and stakeholders to maintain alignment.
• Lead reviews and technical discussions for major projects.
• Communicate decisions and status clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor engineers and future technical leaders.
• Improve engineering practices and knowledge sharing.
