Job summary

Anthropic Limited seeks a Data Center Security Engineer to own the software platform powering physical security across data centers. You will design end-to-end pipelines, define event contracts, and collaborate with site teams to ship first versions and keep them in production.

You will work with external vendors, set requirements, and guide build decisions while contributing to detection and analytics across internal security platforms.

Qualifications

• Built and run event-driven backend systems in production.
• Proficient in Python, Go, or Rust; worked with a message bus or event streaming system (Kafka).
• Owned a system end to end: design, tradeoffs, shipping, production accountability.
• Integrated with external systems you did not control and designed for longevity beyond a vendor.
• Directed vendor/integrator work: wrote requirements and acceptance criteria; reviewed deliverables.
• Designed for failures you won't see coming; tested behavior under edge cases.
• Built tools for operators who work under pressure and iterate with them.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the event bus and normalized event schema: source identity, sequencing, health state, and adapters.
• Build correlation and alerting: rules turning events into analyst-ready alerts.
• Build classification and analytics pipelines: CV and multi-sensor fusion; results to event bus.
• Build analyst surfaces: queue, escalation tooling, dashboards, video wall content; 24/7 watch.
• Deliver audit evidence: durable history, exports, and retention/access controls.
• Instrument metrics: detection rates, alert aging, time to resolve; heartbeats, telemetry, and change audit.
• Deploy across sites: site-local components, central services, and configuration/state sync; handover to analysts.
• Specify compute: servers, storage, network segments; align with segmentation baseline.
• Write requirements for vendors/integrators and assess delivered work.
