Job summary

Anthropic is hiring for a Data Center Security Engineering role in San Francisco. You will design and own the software platform that collects sensor data, runs classification and analytics, and delivers trusted events to analysts.

You will work across sites, partner with vendors, and implement end-to-end security pipelines in production. The role requires building a robust event-driven backend, strong Python/Go/Rust skills, and experience with Kafka.

Qualifications

• Built and run event-driven backend systems in production.
• Proficient in Python, Go, or Rust; worked with a message bus like Kafka.
• Owned a system end-to-end: design, tradeoffs, shipping and production ownership.
• Experience integrating with external systems and vendor/integrator management.
• Experience building or operating security operations platforms or related workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the event bus and normalized event schema for sensors and sources.
• Build correlation and alerting to turn events into analyst-ready alerts.
• Develop classification/analytics pipelines for multi-sensor fusion.
• Create analyst surfaces: queues, dashboards, video viewers, and video wall content.
• Deliver audit evidence: durable history, exports, and access controls.
• Instrument metrics, self-monitoring, and change audit on rules.
• Deploy across sites with site-local components and central services.
• Define compute requirements and network segmentation for platform.
