Anthropic is seeking a Data Center Security Engineer to design and verify physical security for our data center footprint. You will own the security design package and write performance criteria across perimeter, intrusion, video, lighting, and penetrations.

Collaborate with design teams, vendors, and operations to ensure the site meets threat-based requirements. This role involves regular field verification, on‑site testing, and travel to data centers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Produce a vendor-ready design package for perimeter barriers, intrusion detection, video coverage, security lighting matched to camera performance, and penetration protection.
• Define per-site engineering basis based on risk profile and threats, with compensating controls.
• Write the acceptance criteria and test methods for each requirement and the evidence to pass.
• Set standoff, structural hardening, and site layout criteria tied to the threat basis.
• Run field verification: commissioning and acceptance testing of perimeter, detection, video, and lighting against performance criteria.
• Write the operational and design requirements for security operations control rooms: console layout, network, power, and resilience.
• Own control room acceptance: define criteria and verify delivered systems against them.
