Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Data Center Security Engineer to own the software platform for security signals across our data centers in New York, NY. The role focuses on designing and building the event bus, normalization schemas, and analytics pipelines that feed analysts with actionable information.

You will work with external vendors, travel to data-center sites, and contribute to production-ready surfaces and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Built and run event-driven backend systems in production.
• Proficient in Python, Go, or Rust with experience in a message bus such as Kafka.
• Led an end-to-end system design, shipping and sustaining it in production.
• Integrated with external/vendor systems and wrote acceptance criteria.
• Designed for failure and validated reliability under adverse conditions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the event bus and normalized event schema.
• Build correlation and alerting from multi-source events.
• Develop classification and analytics pipelines for security data.
• Create analyst surfaces: queues, dashboards, and tools.
• Deliver audit evidence, with durable, tamper-evident history.
• Instrument metrics: detection rates, alert aging, and resilience.
• Deploy across data-center sites and coordinate with owners.
• Specify compute and network requirements for platform.
• Write vendor requirements and evaluate deliverables against them.
