Job summary

Ford is seeking an experienced senior software engineer to own end-to-end delivery of cloud-native services powering connected vehicle experiences. You will lead domain ownership for critical platform services, drive reliability, and mentor engineers across multiple teams.

You will design, build, and operate distributed microservices with Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS, while collaborating with product, operations, and security to ensure scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating distributed microservices.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka and real-time data streaming architectures.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, with exposure to GCP).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of software services powering critical customer experiences and platform infrastructure.
• Act as a domain owner for critical services, leading root-cause analysis for high-severity incidents and driving reliability improvements.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for distributed systems within the device connectivity platform.
• Mentor engineers, participate in technical reviews, and align execution with product, operations, and regulatory priorities.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into incremental, production-ready solutions.
