Job summary

Ford Motor Company’s EVDD team is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of cloud-based services powering connected vehicle experiences. You will lead domain ownership for critical services, drive reliability, and mentor engineers while partnering with product, operations, and security teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating distributed microservices.
• 8+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka and real-time data streaming architectures.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS with exposure to GCP.
• 3+ years of API design and development (REST, gRPC, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger).
• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, Concourse, GitHub).
• 3+ years of operational experience with monitoring, telemetry, and incident response tools (Grafana, Dynatrace, DataDog, OpenTelemetry, VictoriaMetrics, Prometheus, PagerDuty).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of software services powering critical customer experiences and platform infrastructure.
• Act as domain owner for critical services, lead root-cause analyses and long-term reliability improvements.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for distributed systems.
• Mentor engineers and align execution with product, operations, and regulatory priorities.
• Lead design reviews and define best practices across the platform.
• Drive platform modernization and influence long-term technical roadmaps.
