Ford Motor Company’s EVDD team is hiring a senior software engineer to lead end-to-end delivery of critical customer experiences and platform infrastructure. You will guide domain ownership, drive reliability, and mentor engineers across distributed systems and cloud-native platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production-grade distributed microservices.
• 8+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka and real-time data streaming architectures.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS with openness/exposure to GCP.
• 3+ years of experience with API design and development (REST, gRPC, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger).
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, Concourse, GitHub).
• 3+ years of operational experience with monitoring, telemetry, and incident response tools (Grafana, Dynatrace, DataDog, OpenTelemetry, VictoriaMetrics, Prometheus, PagerDuty) including primary/secondary on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of software services powering critical customer experiences and platform infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for complex distributed systems within the device connectivity platform.
• Mentor engineers, participate in technical reviews, and align execution with product and regulatory priorities.
• Lead domain ownership and drive reliability, observability, and performance improvements across the platform.
• Champion platform modernization and data-informed roadmap decisions while balancing security and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Maintain an enterprise perspective, considering security, cost, and ecosystem impact.
