Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve software in an AI-enabled environment. You will work with a diverse tech stack including Java, Kotlin, Go on the backend and Dart, TypeScript, React on the frontend.

You’ll collaborate with product teams, mentors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions, write automated tests, and continuously improve architecture and practices. Remote work is supported, with travel up to 15% as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant software experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience preferred.
• Strong foundation in CS, data structures, algorithms, and OOP.
• Experience with Dart, React, TypeScript, Go, Java, or Kotlin.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions meeting requirements.
• Utilize AI tooling to accelerate development and enhance platform features.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and stakeholders on requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and standards.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
• Deliver and document technical solutions meeting customer expectations.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans with automated tests.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across services and contexts.
• Collaborate with support teams to triage production issues.
• Engage in product discovery with customers to identify opportunities.
• Establish KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and coach engineers, sharing guidance for growth.
• Communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
