Job summary

Lithic is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Processing team to own real-time interfaces with card networks. You will work on high-reliability systems across Mastercard, Visa, and Amex, delivering low-latency, compliant processing infrastructure.

You will collaborate with product and ops teams, drive architecture, and mentor others while shaping strategic initiatives for scalable payments infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of shipping code in fast paced production environments.
• Advanced distributed system instincts and design skills.
• Experience driving large cross-functional projects across engineering, product, and operations teams.
• A proven commitment to empathy and inclusion.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Interest in fintech and payments space preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high reliability, low latency, and correctness for Lithic's transaction processing interfaces and related services.
• Develop new capabilities across authorization, clearing/settlement, disputes, and network integration surfaces.
• Ensure delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable code with minimal tech debt.
• Evolve infrastructure for network peering with card networks, ensuring connectivity and capacity.
• Own initiatives from planning to launch with stakeholder alignment.
• Participate in team on-call rotation.
• Lead efforts to improve systems and processes within and across engineering.
• Help drive strategic planning with engineering and product management.
