Job summary

Certus Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build a scalable, multi-asset Order Management System in New York. You will own critical architecture and trade lifecycle components, delivering high-performance, real-time capabilities in a hybrid work setting.

You should bring 8+ years building production trading systems, expert Python, strong C++, and experience with distributed systems, messaging, and market data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building production trading systems.
• Expert-level Python for backend services and data processing.
• Strong C++ experience in high-performance or low-latency environments.
• Experience with Smart Order Routing and exchange connectivity.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture and messaging.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS or similar technologies.
• Strong PostgreSQL and high-volume data processing experience.
• Experience building real-time streaming systems and scalable data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing a scalable multi-asset OMS.
• Owning the full trade lifecycle, including order routing, execution, allocations, positions and reconciliation.
• Building FIX, exchange, custodian and third-party trading integrations.
• Developing high-performance market data and execution pipelines.
• Scaling the platform to support high volumes of concurrent orders and multiple asset classes.
• Evolving the platform towards a fully real-time trading environment.
• Working closely with technical and executive leadership on long-term architecture.
