Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience building production trading systems.
• Expert-level Python for backend services and data processing.
• Strong C++ experience in high-performance or low-latency environments.
• Experience with Smart Order Routing and exchange connectivity.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS or similar technologies.
• Strong PostgreSQL and high-volume data processing experience.
• Experience building real-time streaming systems and scalable data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, execution, reconciliation and trading workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and executive stakeholders.

Senior Software Engineer – Multi-Asset Order Management System (OMS)

Our client is a well-funded financial technology business building a next-generation, multi-asset Order Management System (OMS) from the ground up.

The platform will support trading across equities, fixed income, options, futures, FX, digital assets and alternative investments through a single, unified platform.

This is a senior, hands-on opportunity for an engineer who enjoys building complex financial infrastructure, solving challenging distributed systems problems and having genuine ownership over architecture and development.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in designing and building a mission-critical trading platform from the ground up.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Designing and developing a scalable multi-asset OMS
• Owning the full trade lifecycle, including order routing, execution, allocations, positions and reconciliation
• Building FIX, exchange, custodian and third-party trading integrations
• Developing high-performance market data and execution pipelines
• Designing resilient, event-driven distributed systems
• Scaling the platform to support high volumes of concurrent orders and multiple asset classes
• Evolving the platform towards a fully real-time trading environment
• Working closely with technical and executive leadership on long-term architecture

About You

You’ll be an experienced trading systems engineer with a strong background building production systems that handle live capital.

You’ll bring:

• 8+ years' experience building production trading systems
• Expert-level Python for backend services, integrations and data processing
• Strong C++ experience in high-performance or low-latency environments
• Experience with Smart Order Routing and exchange connectivity
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture and messaging
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS or similar technologies
• Strong PostgreSQL and high-volume data processing experience
• Experience building real-time streaming systems and scalable data pipelines
• Strong understanding of financial markets, execution, reconciliation and trading workflows
• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical production environments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and executive stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Low-latency trading systems experience
• AWS and cloud architecture
• Algorithmic execution strategies such as VWAP, TWAP or implementation shortfall
• Trading risk and exposure management
• Custodian or brokerage integrations
